Hi there! I’m M. Sorcier, self-taught artist and writer and criminal mastermind behind Sacrimony: A Tale of Love, Life and Death – In No Particular Order.
As cliché as it sounds, I’ve been writing and drawing since I could hold a pencil and form coherent words. I’ve always enjoyed making art and creating stories, but I lacked the proper support system and funds to get formal training. Still, I remained dedicated to put my stories out into the world somehow and answer the eternal burning question of “How do I write and draw the thing??”
I spent well over 2 decades honing my craft in the shadows while slaving away at soul-crushing, minimum wage retail jobs and dead-end internships by the light of day. Eventually, I grew weary of putting my dreams on hold and started self-publishing Sacrimony as a webcomic in 2016, while traveling to various comic conventions along the east coast.
The reception to the 2016 version of Sacrimony was pretty lukewarm. My lack of experience in terms of making a professional grade comic was obvious and I decided to restart the series in 2020 with an exponentially better art and writing upgrade.
I officially relaunched Sacrimony on Kickstarter in 2021 and it was a huge hit! Since then, things have only gotten better and better. I’m so glad that Sacrimony has finally found its place in the world and in the hearts of many dedicated readers.
I dedicate Sacrimony to those who feel like they don’t quite ‘belong’, those who don’t have their shit together and those who are just kinda trying their best to get by.
